2025 Reflections

At Smyth House Interior Design & Atelier, we believe great design goes far beyond aesthetics—it shapes how you live, how you connect, and how you feel in your space.

Our studio provides Arizona design services for new builds, spec homes, and full-scale renovations—creating deeply intentional, livable luxury environments for luxury desert homes throughout Paradise Valley, Arcadia, Scottsdale, and the greater Phoenix region.

As we look back on 2025, we’re reflecting on the homes, clients, and creative partnerships that shaped this year—and as we look toward 2026, we’re stepping into an era guided by connection, creativity, and the art of meaningful design.

2025: A Year Defined by Purposeful, Elevated Spaces

This year, our work spanned new builds, large-scale renovations, real estate investment properties, and design-led furnishing projects. Each space challenged us to consider how home supports real life—hosting, resting, working, gathering, and creating everyday joy… here’s a sneak peak inside a few of the projects we had the opportunity to work on.

Dojo = a place of the way.

Inspired by the idea of a dojo—a “place of the way,” where growth, discipline, and self-alignment unfold—this home was conceived as more than a project. It became a sacred space for exploration. Designed for a client with great taste and a bold creative spirit, the work evolved through trust, curiosity, and a shared commitment to creating a life as intentional as the design.

The palette is rooted in the desert—warm neutrals, layered textures, olive, smoke, wool, stone—balanced with subtle masculine undertones and unexpected moments of edge. Because the client encouraged us to take risks, we shaped spaces that are both refined and unapologetically personal: a lounge for deep conversation, a moody dining room for late-night dinners, a bedroom that resets energy and pace, and outdoor living that expands the home into the landscape.

This wasn’t just about furnishing a house. It was about crafting a living environment that supports creativity, calm, work, rest, and connection. As the space aligned, so did the client—feeling more grounded, more inspired, and more at home in both life and business.

A reminder that when design becomes a practice—a way—its impact is profound: elevated, expressive, lived-in, and deeply functional.

Sonata Allegra = where modern resort living becomes everyday life.

Designed for clients who wanted their home to feel like a place to exhale, this project blends indoor–outdoor openness, layered neutrals, sculptural lighting, and a flow that encourages slow mornings and late-afternoon lounging.

The palette is soft and warm — sun-baked stone, bone, sand, desert olive — grounded by natural textures that invite touch and ease. Spaces transition seamlessly from inside to out, letting the landscape be part of the architecture instead of a backdrop.

This was a client relationship built on trust and shared vision — which allowed us to design boldly, edit thoughtfully, and refine until every space felt balanced and intentional. The home supports presence, rest, conversation, and connection — the lifestyle of someone who knows how to savor their time and choose beauty on purpose.

Sonata Allegra isn’t just beautiful — it’s a daily vacation. A home that makes room for joy, gathering, quiet, and the simple luxury of being fully at ease.

Eucalyptus = timeless luxury with a twist.

A home designed to feel current today and compelling ten years from now. Rooted in enduring design principles, this project balances clean architecture with layered warmth, sculptural forms, and a collected sense of ease.

Here, every material was selected to stand the test of time — stone with movement, natural woods that patina beautifully, textiles chosen for both longevity and feel. The design is elevated, but never delicate. It’s luxury you can live in.

This home is an investment — and the design needed to protect and amplify that value. Through our proprietary design direction process, we defined the vision early, ensuring every detail aligned with both aesthetic identity and long-term return. The result is not just a beautiful home — but one with lasting relevance and market strength.

This is what happens when enduring design meets impeccable execution:
A home that holds presence. A story no one else gets to have. And a space that will remain extraordinary for years to come. See the listing.
